HMRC launches new tax podcast
02 March 2010Posted by Alex Turner
Contractors working as sole traders or limited companies in the UK could be among those to benefit from the launch of a new tax podcast.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has launched the online service in a bid to provide enterprises with up-to-date information on changes in the VAT, PAYE and corporation tax system.
Stephen Banyard, director of HMRC's Business Customer Unit, said: "Our Super Podcast is a great way for businesses to remind themselves about some of the major changes on the horizon affecting VAT, PAYE and corporation tax.
"So whether you're a VAT-registered trader, employer or limited company, we'd urge you to take 15 minutes to download and listen to it, to help ensure you're prepared for the changes."
HMRC urged enterprises to view the podcast for information on online Employer Annual Returns, which come into effect this spring and details of new penalties for late payment of PAYE.
The podcast is set to feature guidance from HMRC experts Mr Banyard and Don Macarthur.
