IT contractors working as
sole traders or
limited companies across the UK could be boosted by a more positive outlook this year, it has been claimed.
Advice website ContractEye has claimed that following a "poor" 2009 and a negative start to the year, things are beginning to look up for UK contractors.
According to the organisation, most of the news coming from recruitment firms at present paints a more optimistic view of the coming months.
However, it warned that public sector spending cuts could lead to concerns for some contractors into late 2010 and early 2011.
As such, the website has urged contractors to make sure they use highs in the market to ensure they are covered for low point later down the line.
"Make sure you have money set aside for bad times, work extra hard to secure contract work, keep in touch with old colleagues, accept contract renewals unless you've got a new role nailed down, and most of all - be prepared to lower your rate expectations for the time being," the website said.
