Former freelancer Mark Prisk has left his role as small business minister after yesterday’s government reshuffle.
He will now take responsibility for housing, while Michael Fallon, MP for Sevenoaks, will take charge of the small business role.
Mr Prisk had much experience in business, having been involved in governance throughout his political career. Most recently he was responsible for small firms matters with Department for Business (BIS).
His replacement has been a politician for most of his career but does have some experience in business after previously being a director for Quality Care Homes Plc as well as other companies owned by Duncan Bannatyne of Dragon’s Den fame.
Mr Fallon first became an MP in 1983 when he was elected to the seat in Darlington.
After being voted out at the 1992 election he embarked on a five year sabbatical before being elected in Sevenoaks at the 1997 general election.
