Since starting up its first apprenticeship scheme in October 2011, Brookson have employed five apprentices, four in accountancy and one in information services.
They have come to us from Warrington Collegiate and are either studying their AAT Level 2 or CCNA Level 2. With this week being National Apprenticeship week, and to see how they are getting on, Warrington Collegiate visited us on Tuesday 31st January and interviewed a few of them, plus our HR Director Peter Metcalfe.
The apprenticeship scheme "makes financial and commercial sense", according to Peter, and comes with the benefit of not only being able to help out students when they are starting out on their career but also having the opportunity to "grow your own talent for the future".
Peter and one of our accountancy apprentices, Jack Wright, attended a lunch at Warrington Collegiate where they met Councillor Terry O'Neill and saw their full facilities as a celebration of this week.
