All industries have faced big changes to their recruitment trends in recent years thanks to the introduction of new technology. 

The healthcare sector in particular has undergone widespread changes, with freelance roles becoming more popular and an increasing number of professionals turning to short-term roles in order to learn new skills and become better workers.
Here are some of the big changes seen in healthcare recruitment over recent years:

The introduction of LinkedIn
For years, social media was predominantly targeted at young people while job sites and the traditional CV approach continued in the employment market.
However, LinkedIn emerged in the last five years, providing a platform for professionals across the country to network with likeminded individuals, understand new skills and boost their reputation to help them become more attractive to bosses.
The website has become so powerful that many job sites simply ask applicants to paste their profile information, knowing that it will include all the information they require.

A move towards freelance hours
Full-time hours can be a drain for many employees, w ho may want more variety in their working life. While having only one job can help to provide a strong routine and keep you more organised, it may not prove to be challenging enough.
On the other hand, by operating on a freelance basis, professionals have the option to meet more people, take on new kinds of work and be in charge of their own hours. This way, they can select projects that suit them, rather than taking on duties they are not interested in.
For some people, full time work is ideal as it provides them consistency, but working for yourself could prove to give you the step up you need to elevate your career and find the perfect work/life balance.

Popularity of flexible working
Along with the move towards freelance work, many healthcare professionals are considering flexible working in order to work at times and dates that are suitable for their needs.
Rather than working a strict schedule, specialists are working relaxed hours and choosing their hours of work within a specific window. It may be the case that someone opts to work between 9 to 6 rather than 8 to 5.
Recruiters are beginning to understand the importance of flexible hours, too, and are likely to tailor them to individual workers. This gives staff more time to spend with friends and family and tends to result in better engagement.
